Caz - I suppose it really should be me that explains the SPAM story & how it started & has been picked up & run with by almost everyone !
You may have noticed that when ever I do a post & reply after someone has asked a question & I feel I may be able to help out someone a bit more with their post that I always add on the botttom of my post something along the lines of " Please feel free to contact me via email if you feel I can help you more BUT please - don't forget to remove the no spam "
You may have noticed when you click on the links on forumites post to send them an email - their address wil start off with nospam @joesmith - etc
- This is something our wise FA would have set up to protect us from having our emails collected.It basically means that you can't just send an email to another forumite without removing the no spam bit at the front of their address.If you do try & send a msg to them like that - they will NOT get it !
Well this is now where the funny bit starts -
Tony G & myself both live in Adelaide & know each other fairly well.We sometimes talk on the phone or via email.We both like a good joke,stir each other & both have a warped sense of humour.We both eat fairly regularly at Pondok Bali in Adelaide,know the owner well & have also been on the same plane together going over to Bali.Tony has also met my family & knows we can all take a joke.He stirred our son up about heaps on things on the plane & they both loved it.
We both know that we don't offend each other- it's just like how many people have fun with their friends.
This whole SPAM thing started off by TonyG doing a post to me on the forum ( probably after I'd done a post to someone's question & told them to remove the no spam.) His posting on the forum was " Colleen -please don't remove the NO SPAM - send it all to me - I love SPAM - yum ,yum ,yum"
Meaning as in email SPAM OR Canned Spam !
It was just a silly comment & forumites have seemed to pick it up & run with it.KarenL & myself had talked via email & she now seems to be TonyG's apprentice with the spam comments & the jokes.
Hope that explains the whole story to you & everyone else who didn't see this all from the start - no secrets involved at all - It's just that so many forumites enjoy joking around.I think it all a huge laugh !!!
