thought of doing a regular auction for donated items, be they room stays, or tours,or packages of lunches, dinners, etc.
A Daily Auction Post would list an item, with perceived value, a close time, then ongoing posts would only be to raise the offer.
The intended beneficiary could also be noted
We find that by chipping in a few freebies as prizes/giveaways always returns many benefits, and our staff love it when they form more than a brief connection with the lucky guests (bidders or winners), especially ehen the get messages from us.
And it wouldn't favour anyone apart from those who choose to participate/donate, and services who choose to donate are more than likely forum participants anyway, so maybe cuts out sneaky advertorials for hotels or transport services.
And if feedback from winners is NBG, that service would rapidly be embarrassed out of business.
We'll kick in a weekly "cupla room nights" to kick things off.
