a few months ago a poster (not mentioning any names) did MANY posts of "what are your 10 favourite thigs to do?" restaurants etc. Everyone started getting sick of it and the flaming began. Seemed like they were writing a book or something "10 best in Bali???".
Doesn't matter what people write some people don't want to do a search. That's their choice I guess. But by not looking in the archives people are actually doing themselves an inservice. I know I won't answer a question that has been asked the same week and many feel the same way. Some posts attract no answers or only a few so you don't always get a balanced opinion.
Sure, sometimes the archives don't give you what you want or it may be out of date. Some things change with time (hotel recommendations, prices, restaurants etc) so you need to ask for up to date info. Some things don't and have been asked everyweek. Eg how much is the VOA. Do I need $US? How much is a taxi to Kuta.
Thanks for the suggestion but I think it's a hopeless case.
It's one of lifes little annoyances. There are bigger things to worry about.
As you said, It's a great forum so people will keep tuned in for that reason.
