I have one player that has difficulty with some of the DVD's, some it doesn't even recognize that there is a DVD inside....however another DVD player will play them with out glitches....so yea, it definately makes a difference...I think the players that say DVD, MP3, Re-writeable...will play most any of them with out a problem
