for all this ruckuss over your innocent question about your Hotel choice as a first timer.

We are in our 40's and our kids are now all grown up.
We work hard and have one annual holiday in the place we love Bali.

Our idea of this holiday is to be together and do the things we want to do, when we want to do them.

This could be shopping, drinking, site seeing or even just laying in the hotel room watching a movie and ordering up room service. Whatever.

With this in mind, we enjoy the Bali Dynasty.
It's run by an Australian and has tried to cater for Aussies with a pub, several restaurants, shops and plenty of activities like theme nights, bingo, cooking classes, frog races for the kids, etc, etc.

These are there for anyone who is interested and FREE!!!!

I will admit, it is very Western oriented. It is not traditional Balinees.

If we want traditional, we visit other places in Bali but always come home to our very cozy room at the Dynasty.

I'm not saying it's the best Hotel, but it suites us to a tee.

Sorry to say this but "COLIN HATES THE DYNASTY". Fair enough.

We looked at the Santika. It's right next door. Beautiful.
Unfortunately we were quoted twice the price of the Dynasty. That's $140 USD per night. We simply can't afford this.

Colin probably also forgot to mention that with his Queen Bungalow, he had the service of a full time butler. Great, but not very working-class is it?
Maybe instead of his constant negatives, he should be suggesting to first timers, like yourself, of his Hotel choices and why.

Lets hope Colin can lighten up a little.

Anyway, enough of my ramblings.
If you are looking for a holiday in lovely Indonesia, in a Hotel with a touch of Western influence, and friendly people to entertain yourselves and the kids, I think you will be happy with the Dynasty.

But please don't take my word for it, just do a search in the archives. I don't think you'll find too many negatives.

Have fun and if you need any more help with the area of Tuban, please don't hesitate in asking. Most of us are only too eager to help.

Regards, Laker
