I brought back about 5cbm all together so proportionally the costs were cheaper when apportioned across each item (as for charges at this end, (excluding duty & gst) not much difference between 2cbm and 5cbm ) I didn't bring them in as personal goods because I would have had to prove ownership for 12 months prior to shipping. (Also a pain in the a... as you have to show passport etc before you can clear goods.)
Thanks for the tip on importer number-I'll check that with my customs agent.
