Have just come back from a couple of weeks here - when we first arrived (after four days at five star Ramada Bintang!) we were gutted! We had become accustomed to way more upmarket accommodation...but after a day or two the place really grew on us. The rooms are large, get an upstairs on if you go there, number 421 or similar. The pool area is really lovely, right on the beach, with the loveliest locals working the beach every day. The grounds are nicely planted and lush, the beach area is stunning, cleaned every day, and really quiet, great for swimming. Breakfast is included, and is fine - the usual egggs, pancakes, tropical fruit. The place is about to undergo extensive renovations (they SHOULD have been over in time for our visit!) and will be wonderful when this is done, but until then, expect something slightly scummy but addictive in its laidback and cruisy environment. Never thought I would say it, but I think it is a lovely place! And we have stayed in lots of hotels over there. Have fun!
