Hep A and Typhoid are the shots which I would definitely have. Both these diseases are easily contracted through contaminated food & or water. Hygiene standards in Asian countries are not necessarily up to our standards. Vaccinations can be a bit of a hot topic as many people have travelled and never had problems, but whats a jab in the arm compared with contracting either of these horrible diseases.

Hep A & B can be given in a combined form and you are covered for at least 10 years if not longer, but its usually a series of 2 injections if my memory serves me correctly. Thyphoid jab give approximately 3 - 5 years coverage. Check with the Travellers medical vaccination clinic in your state or your local GP for updates and advice.

It is an added expense, but seriously worth it.
Oh yeah and make sure your Tetanus shot is up to date too.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I dont leave home without making sure my shots are up to date. Have done so for many years.
