I would expect it better to book a driver to take you to the zoo who would wait, rather than expecting to find a driver or taxi to take you back after you walk around the zoo. waiting time is never particularly relevent anyway.
We went to the zoo last Sept and enjoyed a pleasant stroll around the paths and viewed the animals. The enclosures are not large for the animals but it looked well maintained.
