works out $15 AUS per kilo - I was actually 17 kilos over so at that point I raced around like an idiot and found an ATM and paid it ( ladies in front of me were 25 kilos over, argued and had their 10 kilo payment reduced to 5) Others on plane were over as well but were not asked to pay. We were early to check in .

No one weighted our hand luggage ( just as well coz that would have been over as well) I suspect it is better to have a bigger bag and be over weight, than have 2 bags and be over weight ( I may be wrong though!)
