jsut back from our first time visit.
We did both turtle island and Lombogan Island via the Aristocat catamaran. Now I was sick the day we did Turtle Island, and we did it as part of the water sports for my 16 yr old(parasailing, jet ski). While he enjoyed the sports, we both found the Turtle Island trip nothing great. It was good to see the Turtles, play with the snake etc. but we were rushed through and the people on the island just seemed to want to pass the animals quickly on, move youon etc. We found you only use about an hour or so on this part of the day at the most- maybe others have found it different.
The island Bali Hai day was great- went quickly, but that is bcos there was so much to do. My son did a scuba dive (never been before- said he understood about half of the instructions, but I figured he was not diving deap, so would not come up with the bends...) could not have done it in Aus. for anywhere near the price and wouldnot have got out of a swimming pool for his first dive! We went on the isaland tour, had BBQ smorgasboard lunch, 2 free drinks, banana boat rides and a lovely trip there and back- i got to troll fish during the trip- caught nothing but at least got to fish!
Our opinion- if you have to choose 1- do the island or a cruise.
