The wooden room is at one end of the property beside the pool whereas the dpulex room is about 50 metres away on the other side of the pool. There is a deluxe room directly underneath the wooden room , which may be good for your folks if you want to be closer to each other? ( No stairs to room under wooden room, whereas there are stairs up to wooden room).
Do not be concerned about the 1.5 kilomteres from main ubud- Tegal sari staff will give you a free lift at any time - just let them know ahead of time ( otherwise its a cheap 10,000R to get a driver off the street). Around the TS there is about 6 resturuants including one of the "dirty duck resturaunts", plus a bakery and coffee shop.
