Yeah, we had the Laxmi A or B last time we were there... the one that is one the top floor, massive balcony and overlooking the pool. Anyway, it cost us 400000 plus 10% tax in March this year. I thought that was kind of on the high side for Ubud, but was willing to pay it for such a reputable place. As it turns out, it was a fantastic place to stay and the room was great. But 500,000 plus 15.5% tax is a big price hike. More than 25% because the taxes have also increased from a straight 10% to 10% + 5%.
Is it now value for money? For me, unfortunately, no. I guess I'm disappointed more than anything, because it is a great place, but is now poor value for money.
Still looking for a new place to try out... Maybe Tegal Sari... Maybe something more downmarket. :)
