I understand that you want to get the best possible price for your goods, and by cutting out the middleman might save you something. But how much, and at what cost to another struggling Balinese?
Have you considered negotiating with your middleman for a better price? He would be in a great position to negotiate with the manufacturer, and may even get a better price than you could by dealing with them yourself. I wouldn't expect that he adds a big percentage, so if you can keep him in the loop, everybody wins. He would be a valuable contact who would be happy to negotiate with other manufacturers as well.
Anyway, good luck with your venture - any foreign business they get is good for their economy.
