I have eaten seafood many times in many types of places in Bali/Lombok and the Gili's. I've evn remember eating seafood in the old Kuta night markets and that was over 20 years ago.
My rule is if it looks fresh and is well iced and it is cooked, you cant go to far wrong. I have only been sick once eating sushi in a Jap restaurant. However, I also ate many strange things uncooked from the sea that night.
I am always a bit suss of oysters and mussels in Indonesia, only because you don't know if the took them from below the low tide mark or not. If the haven't there is always the chance that the sun has sent them off. Lobsters/Crabs/Fish etc are usually fine. One of my favourite places is Gosha in Jalan Melasti. Rai goes to the Market every morning and will hand pick you specific stuff if you tell him the day before.
