- will be again in October. Its our second 'home'.
Most of the rooms have been renovated during the downturn in tourism following the terorist attack in Kuta. Nes furniture in many, new fittings, new A/C units, new card-swipe locks, new in-room safes, etc. The rooms are entered through a smoall lobby which has a wardrobe, the safe, mini fridge, tea and coffee supplies, water and ice bucket. Off this lobby is the bathrom with marble or granite floor and tiles, basin in a long marble bench, hair dryer, shaver point. Opposite is the bath with shower over. This is the only thing I don't like as the shower outlet is short and directed downwards at too much of an angle. Unless you've got ducks disease its a problem getting down to wash your hair without losing orientation and perhaps slipping over. I've taken my own shower extension arm over at times and the hotel plumber has fitted it for me, with a smile and a nod as he stood back to admire his handiwork. Through the entry lobby is the bedroom with siutcase rack. dressing table with drawers and mirror, drawer unit with TV, small table and chairs and a huge bed that is very comfortable. At the far end of the bedroom is a door that leads out onto a balcony (or onto a porch and the garden lawns if you're on the ground floor) where there are more ghairs, another table and a clothes drying rack. Most of the A/C units are now controlled by a handset.
The breakfasts are unbelievable! If you can't find anything your tiny heart desires, just ask for it and the kitchen will satisfy you. All you can eat (and I've seen some teenagers stack away incredible amounts without anyone batting an eyelid) of the best in Indonesian, European and American fare.
You will find the staff are great, without exception in the ten years or so we've been going there. The front office staff, and particularly the Front Office Manager, Mr Made, like their morning and afternoon Chuppa Chups - and if a crunch time comes for you then you will be well rewarded for your friendliness.
There are some stories and photos of our stays there at the link I've posted below.
You will enjoy your stay there I'm sure.
