and it WAS like a ghost town. We spent about 1/2 an hour there & that was a stretch. We took some lovely photos in the garden, but the couple of shops that were open were expensive & not great. I definately wouldn't go there again. As for Nusa Dua, it's a 5-star resort enclave with little if anything else there. The first time I went to Bali I stayed there & swore never to return to Bali. I really didn't like it at all. Too quiet & too expensive for me, with no real shopping at all. Having said that, it's only a half hour taxi ride to Kuta & all the shopping you could want to do. If your main aim is to laze around the pool/beach/resort you could do worse, it's quite beautiful. BUT it's very manicured, not very Balinese and I think a tad boring. Only you can decide what you want in a holiday, but that's my 2 cents worth. Hope it helps. Sue.
