Marcia, thank you for your advise, and for your story.
I do have contacts with the Balinese (both with healers and patients) about traditional healing, which provide me with heaps of information. As I have discovered the Balinese, by tradition, have much faith in the effectiveness of traditional healing (often contrary to the western opinion). In this respect I am curious to find out about experiences of western people who have experiences with traditional Balinese healing.
Another thing I discovered which I think is remarkable, is that more and more western 'light-workers' find their way to Bali..... - attacted by Bali's special energy? It doesn't really matter what attracts them, or the people that seek for healing, what matters is the healing itself.
For me the Magic of Bali (for a great part at least) seems to be about very effective (and low cost) healing - physical, psychical and spiritual.
A Note:
GOOD healers will NOT charge you any money for their services, they will let you free to give any donation you like. Normally you will only be expected to bring an offering, which normally consists of a 'canang beras jinah', a small container made from palm leaf which contains a betel leaf, some flowers, uncooked rice, incense and a symbolic amount op money, usually 1000 or 5000 rupia. The money is a symbol for giving something back ('paying' God) in return for His help to cure your disease. All in all this offering will cost you less than 10,000 rupiah.
regards,
Taksu
