Having just stayed at the Padma (March 2004) I wanted to clear up some of the confusion (in posts below) regarding comments on the rooms.
The Padma has the following room types:
* Standard
* Deluxe Chalet
* Garden Deluxe Chalet
* Suites
All Standard, Deluxe Chalet & Garden Deluxe Chalet rooms have recently had their interiors renovated over the last year. The Garden Deluxe and Deluxe Chalet's are also currently having their exteriors renovated in stages with the downstairs Garden Deluxe Chalets getting their own private courtyard gardens.
The only rooms that have not been renovated and are in need of a renovation as they are looking tired are the suites. These were supposed to be started in the coming months.
If you are staying at the Padma in the Garden Deluxe Chalets, make sure you make use of the new Garden Club. Great spot for a cool drink.
