There many transportation if you want go to bali from Jakarta. But if you intend using plane to Bali, it will take a lot of cost. Cause July - September is peak season of holiday. The cost of plane is about US$ 8o. There are many plane to bali, I suggest you using Batavia Air or Lion Air. They are cheapest. It's only 1.5 - 2 hours using plane.
If you want use train, you just can stop in Surabaya (the capital province of East Java), then you have to change the train and buy a ticket to the next train to Banyuwangi. Then you have to use ferry boat to reach bali.
If you use bus, the cost will take 220.000 Rupiah or it's US$30. It will take 24 hrs from Jakarta To Bali if you use bus.
