but it is not classified as a surfing beach. But it sure is worthwhile place to go to.
There is so much to see & do in the area.Snorkelling, trip to national park, dolphin tours,a trip out to the island,a drive in the mountains, looking how they make the coffee, the hot springs,Buddhist monastery, botanic gardens ,the markets, great places to eat that are SO cheap, nightclubs, the lakes area. There is also a local place that makes it's own wine.
The people are very friendly & love chatting about their lives ,their family & culture. The sunsets are magnificent. You can go to a beachside restaurant to watch the sunset, have a few drinks, eat a meal & then party on.
As far as we are concerned we would stay anywhere else but Rambutan cottages.Go look at www.rambutan.org to find out more.Let Richard know you are from the forum if you contact him.Quite a few foumites have stayed there & have been very happy.
Rambutan has various standards of accomodation from really cheap budget to fancy deluxe cottages. There are 2 pools, the grounds are set in a lovely garden surroundsings.Richard,an Aussie& his lovely Balinese wife,Tini & their staff sure know how to look after their guests.Rambutan is right in Kalibukbuk so you are close to all the shops, bars & restaurants but it is 1 street back from the main street so you don't hear any noise.I think it's the best of both worlds you are right in town where everything is yet you are far enough away not to be bothered by noise or traffic.
I have done many posts on Lovina so if you want more info look in the archives also if you want to contact me via email I can send you a copy of an email I sent to another forumite recently on Lovina.
