area, please take time to explore it when in Bali. The most upmarket hotel is know of in Padang Bai is the Puri Rai, and it only cost us A$70 per night for 2 rooms with a fantastic view of the bay. There are cheaper rooms there of course and they would also be of good value to stay at and explore this interesting area. Also lots of smaller homestays. You can take a traditional prahu to go snorkelling at the Blue Lagoon and Amuk Bay, very colourful fish to feed. And the water palace at Tirtaganang is well worth visiting.
