I had promised to let some posters know our thought on Puri. We had an upstairs, standard room, the first in the block close to the front pool and next to the shrine.
Pools- 2- one swim up with chilren's area, lounges, towels, showers and toilets. Always nice; clean, clear. Lovely guys working the bar, friendly people doing braiding, manicures, massage area- did not hassle you.
Room- clean, comfy ( I am not a good sleeper, but found the beds fine- asked for another pillow and no problems.) Had one power adapter in room- fine for mobile charger. Bathroom was a bit "tired" but clean- bath had stain under enamel- water stain, not "dirt"- but shower etc. worked fine- had hot water all the time, but did hear someone saying they had none one afternoon. Room cleaned every day- one day I put do not make up sign out because we could not be bothered tidying upo our beds for them to change, but it worried the guy so much I felt sorry for him and we let him do it- although he was upset we didn't want the bed changed!!! LOVELY people.
SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX-ETC- very well managed and felt very safe with them. Front desk people excellent- changed money there every time- the same as reputable changers and lots less hassle.
DVD player( 50,000) had sound out of whack with picture- no it was not the dvd's- they are all fine.
RESTAURANT- ate breakie there everyday (part of package) always nice. Nice view to beach.
GENERAL- nice, easy going, friendly, mix of people there although not teenagers or young people on their own- quiet at night. Always clean- we loved it- nothing hugely fancy but suited us fine.
