Can be related to your DVD player and not necessarily the fault of the disc.
I had a few DVDs that wouldn't play on my player, but worked fine for my parents on theirs. I've just bought a new one myself and the DVDs that hadn't worked for me previously now work like a charm.
I had a similar problem with a DVD I bought at home where the special features menu would freeze and I'd have to eject the disc before I could do anything else. It works perfectly on my new player. This isn't a copy DVD from Bali, but one I bought here in a store.
