Hi we visited Panti Asuhan Salam about 4weeks ago and prior to our departure faxed the G.M of Garuda to get extar baggage allowance.Think this is the best way to go to avoid any delays and confusion during check in.
Prior to going to the Orpahange we phoned Pac Gusti to arrange a suitable time by were welcomed to come anytime.i think a curtesy call would still be a good idea.
We took clothes, shoes, toys, personal hygeine items, basic food items(bought in Bali).
The children love sport and I had collected numerous pairs of soccer boots .The boys loved these. There a re a few older boys 16 to 18 so if you could acquire and larger size boots that would be great.they also love basketball, volleyball and at the moment are trying to get a basket ball area made at the orphanage.

Other needs are powdered milk, noodles(a carton a reaaly cheap),tea, detergent, toothpaste, pens, school needs, and books both english and Indo for the children.
4 staff run the orphange and they live on site with the children whos ages range form 6 to 18. Cheers Toni
