I've been travelling around in INdonesia since July 7th. Just reached Bali today and everything seems just as great as ever.
As for general safety, I have just visited Manado and Makassar in Sulewesi, Banjarmarsin in Kalamantan and a couple of days in Biak in Papua-- absoutely no sign of hostility toward Americans at any stop I've made.
