Hi Maricin,
Have been 6 times to Bali and have not taken any extra precuations for Malaria or Dengue Fever other than some heavy duty repellent.
Most doctors in Australia will tell you that unless you intend to visit some of the more remote places in Bali and the rest of Indonesia then heavy duty repellent will be sufficent for the tourist areas.
