Just returned last week from yet another fabulous holiday at the LBH where the staff are lovely, the pools clean and sparkling and the buffet breakfast is too too wonderful. Make us too fat. The kids surfed, swam and shopped happily, the parents swam, shopped and ate and we all had the most wonderful 2 1/2 weeks holiday. Had lots of leather made at Elfin Tailors up Melasti St on the opp side from LBH - they were perfect. Bought heaps of bags from Top Ten over the road from LBH, bought lots of DVDs, ate at great restaurants including Uncle Norms (very friendly), La Lucciola, Pappa's Cafe, Kori, Jimbaran Bay (Sharkies) and Indo National of course. Had great meals also at Tekor, Zanzibar and Poco Loco. Whilst hot and bothered shopping in Poppies 2 we stopped for lunch in an open bar/cafe which had a pool just by the tables - as we all had cossies underneath we swam and cooled off whilst our lunch was being cooked.
BUT the best part was Brunos Beach Bar - it is on Legian Beach by the LBH. Bruno who runs it is a lovely lovely man. He has a great smile, very white teeth and is sooo friendly. We is a good friend of ours and do stop by, say hi and have a beer or soft drink. He even has red Fanta. Bruno's lovely wife, Sonya does nails, etc. also.Bruno is desperately in need of some new beach chairs so if you have any spare and dont mind, it would be wonderful if you could take them up.
Went for a day out to Sanur - so quiet, very sad. Depressing, however, my friends and I made a good "donation" at the market stalls.
Matahari Store in Kuta was fabulous as usual, loved Polo shops everywhere and our girls loved the surf shops - bit cheaper and different.
We felt safe all the time and let our kids lose around Melasti St/Garlic Lane. We walked everywhere at night - no worries. Dont let anything put you off Bali - go go go!!
