Do you mean by the Top Bali web ring?
If you do, that web ring seems to be for listing people with sites
about Bali. There are thousands of web rings and it's just another.
I can't see why having a web site on that ring means you cannot give your hotel recommendations. Most of these people have non commercial
sites because they have info/memories they want to share with others and in many cases,have been to Bali many many times and tried out a variety of hotels. Tbeir advice is invaluable and most appreciated by many including myself.
Out of interest, trying to work out where you got the idea that being a web-ring member means you are obliged to recommend certain hotels,I checked out the rules for joining the web ring (http://www.villanet.com/baliring/join.html). Though run by
the forum's sponsors, it is simply a web ring listing Bali sites and
there are certainly no conditions or agreements that you have to recommend only hotels that the forum sponser deals with. In fact, one rule stipulates if you do have a commercial site, you must make it clearly recognisable as such to a visitor.
