Hi Tina and Kym
We stayed there last September for a few days. It is a very comfortable fairly new hotel. Located on a hill out of Nusa Dua. The staff are friendly and helpful.
I think a resort with suites is a good choice as it makes life easier with young children. However it is quite isolated, there is nowhere in walking distance and you will need to take the hotel shuttle into town to shop, there are a few shops at the resort but with a small selection and of course much more expensive than Tragia or the many shops in Kuta.
Back to the hotel, they have a very nice swimming pool with swim up bar and massage tables. The restaurants are around the pool, they serve a wonderful buffet breadfast. Other meals we found expensive compared to eating outside the resort. They have a small outdoor market with some clothing etc, a laundromat, hair salon, tennis court, pool table, entertainment by the pool and restaurants some evenings. A free shuttle bus to the beach and Kuta.
Do not use the travel office in the hotel lobby, they were triple the price of the pale blue metered Bali Taxi. The front desk will phone them for you. Hope this helps, check my website for a few photos of Bali Gardenia. Also, do a search of the Forum as your question has been answered before. When we were there the hotel was not very busy. Tour busses use them as an overnight stop so some mornings your will find an influx but they soon move on. Enjoy your stay. E-mail me if you think I can help. Sue
