Things have been very bad in E. Timor for some time, as those know who have been following it. It's not like this is completely new or anything. It's heating up lately due to the elections there, and repression of the separatists; there has been more violence and more news coverage. But don't expect it to affect Bali at all, just as it hasn't up until now.
