Berkeley was my chosen home for 35 years. A culturally diverse,
and culturally rich area, I am delighted to hear that Gamalan
will be performed, even if seemingly incongruous. Our wonderful , rich world, is becoming more open. Thank heaven. Makes me want to go back, but, then I am going to Bali itself. Detractors to high culture should be sent permanently to some one place of their choosing, then requred to stay for the rest of their lives, never to explore again.
