Gamelan Sekar jaya (a non-profit gamelan founded in Berkeley 20 years ago by I Wayan Suweca -a professor at the Bali Arts College (ASTI)) will play a free anniversary concert on Sat Aug 28th in MLK Jr Park Berkeley !! Among the musicans and dancers performing will be I Wayan Suweca ( who many consider the best drummer in Bali), I Nyoman Wenten (one of Bali's finest dancers) and I Pak Rai who will lead a performance of the Kecak dance and I Gusti Ayu Srinatih. There will even be an opportunity to take dance lessons from these great dancers!
