We bought some lovely, really unusual carvings at the small village just outside of the Monkey Forest in Ubud. One was of a rabbit jumping over a sun, and another was of two rabbits playing. We also bought a number of playful doorstops with animals carved into them in the same shop. We bought them from the woodcarver who made the rabbits (his father did the doorstops), and had a lovely time drinking Coke and talking about art. To find the village just stay to the right of the temple in the forest as it forks to the right. Lots of little shops there, and prices were quite reasonable.
