We had very much the same experience shipping goods to Singapore when we lived there. We incurred several hidden charges including warehousing for two days before we were contacted. Our crates were in very bad repair when they arrived and the goods had not been packed as had been described to us. We'd expected the delivery, uncrating and debris take-away charges but they were fairly outrageous. One has very little bargining power when your merchandise is taking up space in a warehouse at a fair number of dollars a day. Forewarned is forearmed.
