We bought some of those beautiful kites and probably should have had someone demonstrate techniques while we were there. Having failed that, can anyone offer any hints on rigging them for flight?(Are they intended to fly, or just look pretty in tourists' hands?).
The ones we have, have a 'V' string coming from the "shoulders", meeting a single string attached down toward the tail end. We attach our single string at a point empirically determined by holding the kite in the wind - it's certainly not at the junction of the 'v' and the tail line and the exact point seems critical. Also,left-right stability is hard to achieve - adjusting the structural sticks seems to be necessary.
Anyway, any hints on rigging the things and flying them would be appreciated.
