Hi Sean,
Like Lynnie said, Singapore is pretty expensive compared to other SE Asian countries, but it's still one of my favorite places to go to for a vacation.
Since this is probably your first trip to S'pore, I strongly suggest that you spend a day at Sentosa Island (www.sentosa.com.sg); it's a catch-all kind of place, has a little bit of everything for everyone & it's a nice intro to S'pore.
I don't know what you're looking for (theme parks, nature parks, culture centers, etc.) so I can't recommend any other specific place to visit in particular. I'll just name a few places you can choose from : Merlion Park, Jurong Bird Park, Singapore Botanical Gardens, Haw Par Villa Gardens, Singapore Zoo's Night Safari, Ming Village, etc. Lots of good food (both Asian & Western) at Clarke Quay, food courts, and hawker centers (cheap). You can also take a tour of Batam or Bintan if you want, they're about 45 minutes away from S'pore by ferry. Don't forget to do some major window-shopping along all those shopping centers on Orchard Road.
PS : Much of S'pore has been "Western-ized"; don't expect S'pore to look like other SE Asian countries you may have visited before.
