I'm not entirely sure about this, but the ATMs give you 'quick options' and the highest of those is 600,000rps. But I'm not sure that is the limit. At any rate, that's quite a hefty wad of 20,000rp notes and unless you have a very large strong wallet, you wouldn't necessarily need more than that. I think the amount of bank fees I paid was somewhat similar to the amount of commission I paid on my travellers cheques.
