I've been to Bali 4 times in the last 1.5 years, both before and after the riots. The locals say that the number of tourists have decreased lately but personally, I think that's not such a bad thing. Bali is amazing (as well as Lombok) but as with traveling anywhere in Asia, you do have to be careful. Bad things can happen and you do hear bad reports. I don't know if that has anything to do with the riots or just bad economic times. I personally have NEVER had a problem and would recommend Bali anytime!
