Whether this will be of any interest or not, I don't know, but for anyone visiting the gorgeous Ulu Watu temple, seriously heed the warnings about the monkeys. I was sure that I could outfox the nasty little creatures by keeping my (prescription!!) eyeglasses on and keeping on eye out on the ones in front of me. But one jumped me from behind, and ripped off my glasses. Fortunately, our tour guide called over a young man (who evidently is at the temple just for this reason) who was carrying a bag of fruit. He threw the monkey some fruit, the monkey promptly forgot about my glasses, and the young man retrieved them for me (although they were slightly mangled). As per our tour guide's instructions, I tipped the young man 1000 rupiah. So anyone nearsighted venturing to Ulu Watu, wear contacts.(I lost a hair tie later that trip to another stupid monkey). Other than the nasty simians, the view there is gorgeous and well worth the trip. Very close to both Jimbaran and Nusa Dua.
