I remembered the truly appalling service we were given by Qantas staff in Darwin. We arrived in darwin at 5.30am Darwin time, having left Bali about 2 hours earlier - ie left Bali at 1.30am in the morning for a 2 hour flight - murder!!! for us and the kids. Our flight to Adelaide did not leave until 12noon - but they would not let us book our luggage through after clearing customs!!! We sat and waited ('asleep' in a queue) for 90 minutes until they would let us book it in! Other passengers were allowed to book in though - we were being punished for being on a package with disgusting connections
My husband travels frequently - he is in the highest category of frequent flyers with Ansett (and they treat him like a god!) but even before this, we had NEVER encountered such inefficieny and blatant rudeness by the staff - no apologies - just wait and tough luck!!!
The staff on the flight were fine - actually they served too much alcohol to some young bucks and they got very drunk! But we will never travel Qantas again because of their poor delivery of service at the airport - it finished our trip off on a very sour note.
Ansett next time.
