My friendly pharmacist, widely travelled in the third world recommended I take KAOPECTATE as a preventative. I am cursed with a reliably weak tummy, and with annual visits to Indonesia for 12 years,I ALWAYS had Bali Belly to contend with. I had run the gamut of natural preventatives (diet,papaya seeds,charcoal tabs and assorted prescription drugs-imodium etc), to no avail.
1 tab KAOPECTATE chewed daily as soon as the plane lands, has put an end (no pun intended)to my bathroom vigils.
BTW... while most drugs are freely available over the counter in Indonesia I take this from NZ as I haven't seen it over there.
It goes without saying that any of these chewables would be hopeless in the face one of the nastier variety of bugs.
