My husband is a vegan (no meat, no eggs, no fish, no dairy)
and he did very well. He did eat a lot of gado-gado which
seemed to be prepared a little differently at each different
place but it suited him. He just asked the waiter to leave
the egg off. It often came with tofu and tempe which are
not appealing if you're not a hardcore vegetarian. It was
basically steamed vegetables with peanut sauce. The fish
is great (I can attest to that) although I often ate gado-gado
out of simplicity or being cheap!
