I shouldn't think you'd need to go through all that if you are staying at the Four Seasons, and are careful about what you eat outside the resorts. We stayed at a beautiful resort in Nusa Dua and were never ill once (a two week holiday.) The salads and ice at the first class resorts are perfectly safe. We ate at higher quality restaurants such as the Bumbu Bali, and again, never had a problem.
We also read about the Pepto Bismol "preventive" treatment you mentioned. It is apparently not advised for anyone who bleeds or bruises easily. Anyway, my husband and I took a whole drugstore with us and never used anything but the bandaids!!! (for blistered feet!)
The best item we packed with us had to be Purell (we live in Canada.) It is an alcohol-based, gel hand cleaner for which you do not need water OR a drying towel. Wash your hands often, stay away from ice unless you can be sure it is made from bottled water, and don't eat any salads unless the establishnent is spotless. Holidays are expensive, and better to be over cautious so as not to waste a day in the bathroom!!!
