I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem to ask for a dish without meat, those who speak sufficient english know what a vegetarian is. The problem with things like mie goreng etc is they are often pre-made or at least pre-prepared (if you get what I mean) and have those damned lil pork pieces lurking there already!
