They DO seem expensive when you can feast off premises for $5.00, but the restaurants in all these resorts are world class and as such the prices charged reflect this.
Still a good deal cheaper than here in New Zealand that's for sure !! and the service is generally second to none, the atmosphere tropically charged - and when you pay the bill at the end of your stay you'll be pleasnatly surprised.
The strange thing about Bali is that even the most avowed spendthrift becomes a stingy penny pincher(me!) in Bali. Tourists talk about prices ALL THE TIME...this is an integral part of the Bali experience. My sons compete connstantly about who paid how much for what. I tell them I paid about half of what I actually did! and often I find I've still paid over the odds.
Believe me if you're used to the 5 star lifestyle you'll get it in Bali at half the price of everywhere else-meals included!
