We stayed two weeks at the Sheraton Nusah Indah this past May. It was fabulous. A beautiful oasis with a stunning beach, plenty of activities available and lots of cool shade. It would be PARADISE for your four year old!!!! We did not have young children along, but couldn't help exploring the "little Stars" children's "resort" within the resort. Gorgeous facilities, with a huge shady playground, adorable thatched begong (open sort of cottage) for tea-parties, a mini bird park, a beautiful little reptile garden with stream and bridge, and the entire resort is IMMACULATE. The Sheraton's grounds are huge and heavily planted with colorful trees and flowers, there are peacocks, entertaining white Balineses ducks, and pheasants (all free to roam)...and there is kiddie's wading pool in a grotto with a waterfall, right beside the main pool. There are babysitting facilities, too. The staff are gentle and charming. Regarding the food, we were leary about Bali Belly after reading the forum, but were never sick a single day. We ate many meals at the hotel, and you can eat everything with confidence, even the salads, fruit etc. The buffet breakfasts were great, your child would love it.
The Melia Bali was just a ways down the boardwalk along the beach,
looked VERY nice but we were unable to see in past the foliage.
The Sheraton was very romantic, and there is a little four-piece band from Sumatra that wanders the open-air restaurants and plays requests!
