Once I was walking around in Kuta Square Market with some females friends, one guy (he is an Aussie) I knew so from his english, approached us or I would say tried to sell us a brochures for (time share) for one hotel in Bali. He showed us his ID and said: "Excuse me sir, do you have time to play a game.?"
"No."! I replied.
"Yes."! answered my friend.( I knew then we're in trouble).
Then he pulled a bunch of cards to scratch and win.
My friends scracthed each their card and won silver. (NOT BAD)
I scratched and got gold, wow...I thought.!
"Sir, you just won a GRAND PRICE for a free one week stay at our hotel" he said.
"Thanks."! I replied calmly.
My friends all soooo happy and yeah let's go see get the price.
Then..he (an aussie hawker) grab my hand and asking me if I have time to go to his office, just around the corner.
All my friends so excited, begging me to go get the price.
Bullshit...I said, this is not the first time happen to me.
Okay...now, you wonder why me..??
Well, I look like a Japanese, I don't look like Indonesian at all.
Infact, once I was at GOA, a German couple (who I met) asking me if Iam an American. On different night I was at BOA, a couple from Italy asking me;"Pardon me, are you from around here.??"
Now back to my topic, this moron (tourist hawker) was very aggresive and I said politely;"Pardon me, sir, I don't have much time, now can you get lost..?!!!!".
The last email I received from my Bali's buddies is less hawkers (locals)in the island but more westerns hawkers.
You better believe it.
