A good place right on the beach at Seminyak is the Bali Holiday Resort. US$50-60 per night with breakfast, restaurant, bar and pool. It is in a quieter part of town and only a short taxi or bemo trip to all the restaurants, bars and shopping at Kuta/Legian.
At Lovina try Baruna Beach Cottages. Simple bungalow type rooms with fan and private bathroom, bar, restaurant, pool right on the black sand beach for about US$25 per night with continental breakfast. For an extra US$5 you can get air conditioning.
