Yes there was a previous posting regarding playstation that didnt work...however I believe this person didnt have their playstation game modified and therefore didnt realise he/she needed a chip to play the (cheaper Bali games )
I believe the way playstation console's identify the cd as being genuine is that original sony games have information imbedded between the tracks , the consol picks this information up and continues to play the game. When a game is copied the CD Burner can't write this information between the tracks and therefore the console dosent find it and won't play. The "chip" as its called ...tricks the console into believing its playing an original cd. It also converts the info from NTSC or PAL so it dosent matter what format you get after you have the chip installed.
